If The Shoe Doesn't Fit was born out of the frustration that came from looking at a closet full of never worn shoes.
 At best these shoes were worn once and I thought to myself, why is this?

Well for starters, some of them didn’t fit properly.  Yes, they were pretty, some people might call them works of art.  But the fact remained, that despite the old adage that beauty is pain, it just ain’t pretty when your foot is swollen to the size of a Buick.

Or maybe they accumulated from the phenomenon that is retail therapy.  I was feeling a little down.... I walked into a store....  I saw a pair of shoes that seemed to be lit from within.... I swore I would actually die if I did not buy those shoes.  And not wanting to leave the earth yet, I bought them of course.  It turns out that I may not have needed a pair of patent leather camouflage stilettos.  You live, you learn.

I guess some of these little pieces of art were bought specifically for outfits that were long gone, sent up the fashion river and never coming back.  What to do with those gladiator sandals that happen to be the same shade as a macaroni and cheese Crayola crayon, bought to match a now too small maxi-dress?  I had boxes upon boxes of shoes that didn’t match anything else I owned.
Yes, there was frustration indeed.

Every so often the fashion gods would look down upon me and I would be granted the luck of finding someone who wore the same odd shoe size, and had the same exceptional taste in shoes as myself.  Like siblings trading candy on Halloween, we were able to swap shoes.  It was as exciting as getting your brother’s unwanted Kit Kats, but I was getting free shoes. SHOES PEOPLE!  I got the same high as shopping minus that pesky part where you pay. It got me to thinking…

I had an overflowing closet full of shoes.  Just because I didn’t love them as they deserved didn’t mean someone else couldn’t.  I had a continual desire, a need, and a well, let’s be honest, an obsession to buy MORE shoes.  Therefore, I needed to move some out and make some room for new shoes.

I thought about what options were available to me and my little addiction.  Swapping was fun, but what if I could make a little extra cash from those shoes that were sitting idly in my closet; I’d then have money to spend on… new shoes of course.

 I checked out websites where I could sell my soles and it kind of felt like I was dealing with the devil… and he wasn’t wearing Prada.  Speaking of selling my soul, after all the fees were taken out of my “profit”, the only new shoe shopping I’d be doing was digging through the bargain flip flop bin at the dollar store!  And aside from the lack of riches, what a headache!  Look, I’m a footwear fanatic who can tell the difference between a kitten heel and a cone heel—I consider myself an intelligent woman!  But selling items online seemed to be unnecessarily complex and complicated.

And if I wanted to buy shoes online, it took forever!  Perusing these auction and selling sites, I found I had to dig through through the clothing, the bags, the furniture, the cars, the DVDs, the stuffed animals and everything under the sun for goodness sakes, just to find the shoes… THE SHOES!
